Mathematics: Expeditions in the Mathematical Wild NEW!
This course is engaging and immersive, designed to take young learners on a journey where mathematics meets real-world exploration. Through hands-on activities, interactive lessons, and outdoor adventures, students will uncover the hidden mathematical principles embedded in the world around them. From measuring the height of trees to calculating distances during hikes, this course encourages students to apply mathematical concepts in natural settings. Through observation and problem-solving, students will develop a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts while honing their critical thinking and analytical skills. Join us as we embark on a mathematical expedition through the wonders of the wild!
This course not only enhances your child’s problem-solving skills but also connects math to the real world, fostering a deep understanding. Biology: The Mysteries of My Strange and Wonderful Brain
Schools teach so much about how the general body works, but not so much about one of the most important organs: the brain. The brain guides everything that we do physically, but it also guides how we feel and what decisions we make. There is a level of empowerment that comes from your child’s being able to understand themselves and identify the part of their brain that is reacting strongly to an event - and to know that they can actually control their brain! Learning about the flexibility or “plasticity” of their brain in the development of their mental abilities can greatly improve your child’s self-regulation and social and emotional health as well as their achievement and attitude at home and at school.
Help your child increase in self-awareness through an exploration into the brain’s functions and activities. Students get personalized instruction and feedback from U.S. certified instructors. They’ll get an introduction to some pretty amazing facts about the brain and how to influence its development.
Leadership: The Leader’s Quest: Unleashing My Leadership Superpowers
This course is designed to empower and inspire young gifted students to become leaders in their communities and beyond. They will have the opportunity to explore their own leadership potential and develop the confidence and self-awareness needed to become leaders in their communities. Through a variety of interactive activities and real-world examples, students will learn the essential skills and qualities of a successful leader and how to apply these skills in their daily lives.
Help your child learn how to set and achieve goals, communicate effectively, and explore different leadership styles to discover which one resonates with them the most. Students get personalized instruction and feedback from U.S. certified instructors. Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to think critically and creatively, and learn about the importance of taking initiative, being proactive, and making a positive impact on those around them. Finally, students will reflect on their learning in order to create a personal leadership philosophy.
Writing: Untangling My Voice in a Complex World
The world in which your highly able child is living has become more and more complex every day, and they have ideas and questions and perceptions that are never too early to explore - and express! Is your child an aspiring writer? Do they have great ideas and need support in developing and stretching themselves to express themselves and their ideas in writing at higher levels? One of the most critical skills for highly able/gifted & talented children to master is that of expression, not only verbally but also in writing. Why wait until middle or high school to build their stamina and writing “muscles?”
Help your child find their voice by preparing them for essay writing. Students get personalized instruction and feedback from U.S. certified instructors. They’ll get an introduction to narrative, autobiographical, and poetry writing and choose their medium in creating a final product.
Chemistry: The Chemistry of Cookies (and your other favorite desserts)
In this course, young chemists and chefs will have the opportunity to explore the science behind some of their favorite sweet treats. Students will discover how ingredients like flour, sugar, and eggs interact to create cookies, cakes, and other delicious desserts. They will also learn about the chemical reactions that occur when heat is applied to ingredients, including the role of leavening agents like baking powder and baking soda, and the Maillard reaction, a chemical reaction that occurs when heat is applied to sugars and amino acids, resulting in the browning of baked goods. In addition to these concepts, students will also learn about the role of acid-base reactions in the baking process, and how the pH levels of ingredients can affect the final product.

They’ll get an introduction to fundamental chemistry concepts that will help them get a head start in Chemistry class!
